The Grootbos Family Experience is a four-day sample itinerary at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, located above Walker Bay along the Cape Whale Coast. This tour combines nature-based activities, time outdoors, and comfortable accommodation suited to families.
Guests stay at the Garden Lodge, with access to the reserve’s facilities and guided experiences. The program includes walks through the reserve and surrounding areas, horse riding, coastal excursions, and seasonal whale watching from land between July and December.
Time is also set aside for rest and informal exploration. Airport transfers between Cape Town International Airport and the reserve are included, ensuring a straightforward arrival and departure. The experience is structured yet flexible, allowing families to participate in daily activities or enjoy leisure time at their own pace while exploring this natural environment.
