Graskop Gorge is a scenic natural attraction located just outside the town of Graskop in Mpumalanga, South Africa, within the Panorama Route. The gorge is carved by the Dwars River, creating cliffs, waterfalls, and indigenous forest.
The Graskop Gorge Lift is a highlight of the experience. It’s a glass-fronted elevator that takes visitors from the top of the gorge down to the forest floor in under a minute, providing dramatic views of the cliffs and greenery as you descend. At the bottom, you can explore walking trails, the suspension bridge, and other attractions safely without the strenuous hike.
On-site, Graskop Gorge has a café offering light meals and refreshments. Graskop Gorge’s main building, viewing decks, and parts of our cliff and forest walks are wheelchair and pram-friendly, with safe pathways for children, and bathrooms are available near the main entrance. The must-do experience is crossing the suspension bridge for panoramic views of the gorge. Visitors often pair Graskop Gorge with nearby attractions like God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and the Lisbon Falls.
