At Singita Community Culinary School, the cooking class is a front row seat into the flavours and stories of the African bush. Guided by a professional chef, this hands-on session takes place in a bright demonstration kitchen overlooking the Kruger veld.
Over approximately 90 to 120 minutes, you will chop, sizzle, and season your way through dishes inspired by South African cuisine, with plenty of chances to ask questions, learn techniques, and taste as you go. This experience is child-friendly when attended with adults, although younger children may prefer watching or helping with simple tasks. While the kitchen area is generally accessible, wheelchair users should check access with lodge staff in advance.
The class is relaxed and safe for people of most fitness levels. The main focus is food and culture, blending culinary creativity with the lodge’s community training program.
The Singita Community Culinary School is located within the Lebombo Lodge grounds in a bright, modern kitchen that overlooks the Kruger bushveld. It is designed as both a training facility for aspiring local chefs and a demonstration space for lodge guests.
From the lodge suites and dining areas, you can see the surrounding N’wanetsi River valley and open savanna, giving the kitchen a bushveld backdrop that is both scenic and inspiring.
